WRITER ARTIST DISABILITY ADVOCATE

In 2019, I was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease. This condition has left me with very little energy to do what I used to do. As a result, I have found new things to enjoy: writing, art, and learning how to live with a disability.
Before setting sail for Australia (not literally, we came by air!) I was a lawyer. I then had my amazing sons - I cannot believe how quickly they have grown up! I have also studied social work and mental health, which has put me in good stead now that I have a disability of my own. Having decided to expand my reach, I am studying for a doctorate at Charles Sturt University, exploring individuals within families who have a life-limiting or chronic condition.
